Well, from the encouraging comments of Danping, I hope it is more aesthetically pleasing to have the beautiful face of the author greeting my avid fans rather than the popping eyeball of a stranger. Hee hee.. hope that this new layout is not any more scarier than 'the eye' (no pun intended!).
Anyway, I realised that the pictures from 'quizilla' are missing..those emphasizing the fact that I'm a caramel, sensitive girlfriend etc. The background pic of one of my other blog had disappeared, just like what happened to all Xiaxue's images recently...so it's really dangerous to host pictures on other sources. Therefore I'm tearing down the eyeball (which came from an unknown source) to a picture of my own face from my own server, hee hee. At least I'm a paying customer, so if Singnet is not putting up my pictures I can sue their ass off.
Promise to put up a better picture when I can get hold of one!

我的博客
You must be thinking..what the hell is the topic about? Anyway, my sister brought back a magazine from China and I was reading this article about people keeping online diary, and this word "博客" was a recurring phrase in it. It took me a while before I realised that it's a direct translation from 'blog'! Duh..think the mainlanders have the habit of forming new words from English, and it's like a trend or something. Just like a year ago during SARs, we used to term it "非典型肺炎" in Singapore newspaper before the disease spreaded around China and the term “沙斯”was used instead. In this case, I guess it's a good thing as even the indians knew what we was talking about when we kept saying “沙斯”“沙斯".
It's a calling
I went for a preparatory course the first two days of work and the lecturer was a experienced teacher and a retired principal. I must say that he's quite engaging and gave good pointers. At one of the session, he actually mentioned that it's a calling from God that we should become teachers. Wow..so sacred, it's a calling. I hope that God's next calling for me is to become a tai tai, a millionaire or something.

I'm a free man!
Yesterday the CID woman called me and said that the case doesn't involve me after their investigation.. Duh..didn't I told you this right from the start?? They're going to return me my laptop and desktop, and I bet it's even more damaged than ever. I'm going to sue them for psychological damage for the past week, for worrying about my laptop containing downloaded mp3 being found out. Hahahaa..I'm just kidding lah.
Yeah..yeah..I'm so happy, I'm the hacker and I haven't been found out!! Kidding again..

Oh my, it's finally weekend!
Previously, I can't imagine why those people working keep complaining that they don't have life. Now, I've got it, my dear friends.
I DON'T HAVE A LIFE TOO!!
Yesterday was the second day of my teaching in school, and I was really damn tired after my lesson and tuition. Really pushing myself to go for tuitioning these few days, whereas in the past it had already become a habit and part of my routine. I'm so tired.. and I'm only awake for like, an hour or two at home each day. Last night, I came home at 9.30pm after tuition, and knocked out by 10.30pm. Read this, I KNOCKED OUT.. not fell asleep. Then this morning, I woke up around 9 plus (actually woke up at 6am but went back to sleep again), and it's time to report to school again. Sheesh.. don't know why it's so super duper tiring when I only have maximum 4 hours of teaching per day. And the books to mark are already piling up high on my desk.. contempleting if I should go back to mark my books tomorrow. And I thought I don't have to work on Saturdays anymore!!
My students
The kids are pretty nice..and ermm cute. You can see the stark contrast between NUS students and my primary 1 pupils. During tutorials, everyone will act busy or avoid the tutors eyes when questions were being asked in uni. But, if you ask my primary 1 students about anything...they will enthusiastically put up their hands, whether they know the answer or not. There's a constant flow of hand raising that I can hardly bear to move on the the next question, some were practically having their butts lifted off from their seats, waving their hand to catch attention. It's just like I was having a room full of Hermione Granger at Hogwats. But most of the time, it got quite irritating as the most common questions/complaints were..
"Lao shi.. ta da wo!! (he beat me)" OR
"Lao shi.. wo yao qu xiao bian (I wanna go pee)" OR
"Lao shi.. wo yao he shui (I wanna drink water)" OR
other more nonsensical stuff.. Once you've given permission for one person, every pupil's bladder will work extra hard to make sure that they got the sudden urge to go toilet.
The most memorable incident came when a wide eyed little girl came up to me and point at the boy behind her "Lao Shi.. ta shuo "Ch**b**"(the famous hokkien vulgarity). She told me this matter-of-factly and went back to her seat. My god.. kids nowadays.

Cineleisure Cheap Photo shots
There..told you I will show you the photos, whether you're interested or not!! I can't possibly go back on my promise, being the lovely, sincere and trust-able person I am. Muahahaha..! Anyway, these are 2 of the shots we've taken. The others are quite similar, not bad ah.. considering I didn't edit with photoshop and its the first time I see Hock Sui in a "Chinese" skin colour.

Induction camp
Okay, think I didn't blog much about the induction camp I went to. This is the whole group of the 'Adventurers' I'm working with, photo taken at the well known NPCC resort (better known as NPCC campsite) jetty. I know the resolution is very poor, but I've downsized the photo else it'll take a long time to load. It's too early to tell, but initially I was not very used to the idea of working with a group of people I've never worked with. It got better during the camp, and had some fun. I'm getting ready for the storming stage, but think majority of the group are fun and spontaneous. By the way, it's one of the slackiest camp I've ever had at the campsite.. just full of discussions, BBQ at the jetty and nobody was rushing us about anything. Actually, I've much more used to better time management.
We've shortlisted a few places in China that we're proposing with SIF to go to.. its either Yunnan, Inner Mongolia or Xinjiang. The expedition venue is the top perks for my motivation to take part in the expedition. I think Inner Mongolia is my favourite, want to go and experience the nomadic lifestyle. Probably built a portable toilet for them? Hmm... Everyone must support me when I'm fund-raising for the expedition okay? Hey hey, don't pretend you never see this okay!!

A beautiful Saturday
Yeah yeah..it's definitely beautiful as the CID woman did not call up for a whole day!! Well, I'm not giving out too much information here just in case the hacker is reading my blog and decided to escape from town before he/she got caught. I'll still prefer him/her to stay put for the bull infected with herpes/SARs/bird flu to find its target. Anyway, I'm rather sick of the CID saga, had repeated the story 2, 999 times to receive an equal number of flabbergasted looks from my friends and also, concerned friends are smsing me or writing about it in their blogs. Fear not, my avid readers! For the time being, I'm not being charged as the officer had helpfully informed me that the whole investigation will take around half a year to be completed, due to the efficiency of the police force. Will update you again when I'm packing up to go to jail..haha..
New job, new school, new start
Due to the trauma of the past week.. boy, I'm so glad that I'm not stucked to my previous job! Went down to the new school to meet the Vice principal, HOD of mother tongue and my level head this morning. They're all friendly aunties, I'm so happy to settle down in a lovely school with motherly people looking after me. The vice principal is a female version of Mr Khor and the Level Head is a female version of Mr Neo (Mr Khor and Mr Neo were the vice principal and level head at Woodlands' Ring, the place where I used to do relief teaching..so think only Danping can get the drift here..), really helpful and friendly people. I came home with teachers' handbooks for all my chinese lessons and the moral education lessons, wanted to just photocopy whatever I need for next week but the level head was so enthu that she offered me a big plastic bag, so I had to just carry everything back. I've got lots of stuff to do already, as the lesson plans had to be type-written in chinese, to be vetted every monday!! Oh man.. previously we just write into the teacher's record book and now everything has to be typed out using chinese software. The results of technology, how helpful..
Oh yeah.. I saw xiaxue at the citylink today! Really strange as I felt like I've known her for a long time from her blogs and the pictures she posted up. Hahaha..
Hmm..maybeI can also get popular by posting up more 'photoshop edited' photos onto my website. =) Realised that what Danping said was true. When I typed in "Danping + Blog" or "Hocksui+ Blog" into the google search, the results will immediately show my blog page! I must get advertising fees from those I've mentioned in my blogs from now on. Luckily when I typed in my workplace name + Blog, it doesn't generate the same results. If not, everyone will realise that I had been bumming around! Lalala..hee hee..
Had a wonderful day after returning back from the school. I was really satisfied about my new workplace and today's the day when I celebrate my one year anniversary with Hock Sui. Wasn't anything special but we caught "The Eye-2", went NYDC for a nice dinner, joined my friends at marina square for coffee and came home to watch recorded "Wu Tou Dong Gong' with my mum. Very relaxed outing and we were all happy and chatty throughout, so its an achievement!

I'm back..to curse whoever who hacked into my singnet a/c, and used it to hack into my company's a/c to be sadomised or raped by a raging bull which is infested with herpes. (Sounds familiar?? hee hee..) Yeah..that's it. It might not turn out to be deadly so I'm still a very nice person actually. And whoever who did it: YOU TOO BO LIAO IS IT? Want to hack also choose a much better place yah?!! Go into educational centre website to delete emails is so DUHHHHH.. you just created stupid mundane job for the CIDs of technology dept. Waste tax payers money.. and your parents, grandparents are all tax payers okay. You happy to waste your own money is it? Siao..
I think I even more siao, hackers don't have any brains so they wouldn't understand the logic above. But I'm too lazy to go delete the above statements. I hope I won't be sued if a raging bull infested with herpes appeared on the streets one day. Did I mention that even the CID in charge of this case also find it very duh? She actually said that hackers wouldn't be bothered to do such things, so it must be someone I know who made unauthorised access to my a/c. Even hackers won't be so bo liao okay? So whoever it is, is even more brainless than hackers. I think I'm going to sue that person as I'm paying $50 every month while he/she is surfing happily using my broadband for free.. I'm so angry! It's $50!!
Haiyah, I must be an idiot.. I realised that I had not changed my password for the last hundred years and it's a very very very obvious password such that anyone who know me could have hacked into my singnet a/c. I'm an idiot. But you better dun be an idiot to go prove me right, cos I just went to change my password already. Hahah..
Ah xing is showing on TV now, I must go watch her pathetic life to appreciate mine. Ciao! =)

A happening day
Saw Danping's updated blog. Think I forgot to click on refresh when I was viewing her blog the past few days..so it's always the 'I'm so bored bored bored' blog, and the horrible hokkien song (I always quickly click the stop button on the tool bar so my colleagues and family wouldn't think that I'm must be mad), then navigate away when there's no new blogs. Then viola! Seems like she's in a much better mood these few days, with a nice friend to have dinner with and the Dilbert comics. But ermm.. I really couldn't get the joke about the air gap, maybe I'm too dense? Hopefully danping should enlightened me the next time I see her.
I must be getting my retribution for being a caramel and gloating ove the misfortune of Danping's FYP. I'm in serious trouble this time. Still quite traumatised by the whole incident, though I don't know once again why I'm so suay. The whole story started when I overslept and didn't go for work this morning (it's actually my OFF day today but I'm thinking of working today and claiming my OFF on Friday, as it's already the last day of work), thinking that I'll go in the afternoon instead) I'm already looking forward to the start of the next term and finishing these few days of the last bit of my contribution at my current job. I was really tired as the last two days I was working full days. Eh..for those of you who had been holding a full time job since 3 hundred years ago, I have to remind you that I'm only officially a full-timer from next week onwards and currently I have the problem of waking up late as I don't have the habit of sleeping before 2am at night. Okay..I'm digressing..
The point is that I overslept and I woke up in trouble! My dad woke me up in my dreams around 11am and told me that there's some friends looking for me at the door. I woke up really groggily and confused, who will be visiting me at this hour on a weekday morning?? I went to the door to be greeted by a guy and a lady who asked me some questions ( I forgot what they asked) and flashed me their ID before asking me to invite them in. It turned out that they were from the CID (the real criminal investigation department okay?) and they started with some questions regarding my current job. I was really horrified and thought that I must be dreaming.. I'm being arrested for being late for work!! I was really curious.. and turned out that someone had hacked into my company's account and they traced the IP to my home. My god, I had lots of experience interacting with the police but none of them was in this manner. They took my old NEC laptop, my old desktop (which had both crashed almost at the same time) back for investigation, and luckily they left my new precious desktop at home for me to blog my frustrations right now.
I really have a thousand questions in my mind after they left. Although I'm quite internet savvy, I can only check emails, blog and maybe set up some bo liao homepage, but I have totally no idea how could I be involved in some hacker scam and cause serious damage to my company. And the best part is, I totally had no idea that my company is into this kind of investigation when I thought that the manager should at least have spoke to me beforehand about this. It's just a small educational centre, so I have no idea how much can be damage. Luckily I'm not working in the ministry of defence. Sigh.. I still have to specially go down to have my statement taken for the case, and I have no idea how long the investigation will take. To all the avid readers of my blog, please pray for me that I won't be charged and taken to jail, though I have absolutely no idea what is going on.
On a lighter note
Yes, on a lighter note.. I've received my school posting. Ta-da!! The greatest irony in the history of education. I'm being posted to Ang Mo Kio primary school which is opposite San's place. And where is she having her practicum now? At sembawang primary school which is just opposite my house. What is this man?!!!! Okay lah...at least I'm not being posted to a school in Bedok and I've just contacted the VP.. she informed me that I'll probably be in the afternoon session, so no worries about waking up at 5.30am every morning like what San is doing now. Phew! But the sad thing is, I'm finally able to be in the judging panel for the finals of campcraft competition this year (I'm working during the prelims) as this Sat is my OFF day too.. BUT the VP had requested me to go down and meet her on Saturday morning. Haizz.. I have to disappoint the chief judge again.
I'm really sad today, but still think it's sweet of Danping to remind me and the whole world about my anniversary day. Hee hee..

You're a Caramel!! You are known for your
sweetness. You are comfortable with yourself,
and help others feel the same way about
themselves. You are generally friendly to
everyone, and believe in second chances.
Which kind of candy are you?
brought to you by Quizilla
Muahahhaa... I went online to check on Danping's blog after she left office and found this quiz. Oh man.. don't you wish you can be like me? Got time to slack, no FYP, popular and pretty..I'm caramel! Heehee.. I swear I only took the quiz once, and I'm so triumphant I can't help blogging it now. Oh okay lah, now I feel quite bad, I give you all my bestest wishes for a better weekend okay? I think Skitters are great too, so colourful and fun..and erm.. you get the drift. Hee hee..
I'm going to burn my whole weekend at a induction camp for an expedition programme. Overseas community service again. It's going to be at the end of the year, but we're forming a committee to plan the whole thing, and we're call 'Adventurers'..Hahah.. no comments about the name. But the programme for the camp sounds like a really 'interesting' one, lots of discussions and such. Thought that it'll be a tough camp, maybe something like OBS selection camp? But I saw the BBQ dinner tomorrow night and changed my perception. Anyway, still off to sleep soon!

Fondue
According to Webster's dictionary:
Main Entry: fondue
Function: noun
1 a (1) : a preparation of melted cheese (as Swiss cheese and Gruyre) usually flavored with white wine and kirsch
(2) : a dish that consists of small pieces of food (as meat or fruit) cooked in or dipped into a hot liquid
According to Rong's dictionary:
It's a absolutely heavenly lovely treat!! Yummy..
Okay.. Happy Rong is back here after tasting the fondue last Sat, at her fourth attempt at Chocolate bar..luckily it's a successful one! I think it really takes a lot of luck and good timing to get decent seats at the small but popular place, good gossipy chatty buddies are also great to enhance the experience..hee hee.. Yah, just realised that I really had been living in the mountains, Aileen had tried it before, Danping had a profound discussion with her dad after discovering the place from my blog. And even Hock Sui, with his limited vocabulary (he wouldn't know the difference between marsupials and monotremes) know what is fondue!! That day I was talking to him about the trip to Max Brenner..
Me: Luckily we didn't go the other day, you will find it quite bo liao loh..
Him: What's nice there?
Me: There's this thing that we can dip strawberries and bread into hot chocolate..how nice!!
Him: That's call a fondue right? The experience is worth a try..
Me (looking utterly flabbergasted): You know what is fondue?
Him: Of course, my course-mate did a project about it.
There, I conclued that I'm the only one who's the real 'Sua Ku'.

A great Saturday
Guess what? No prizes for the correct answer. I'm here sitting in my office feeling bored and alone on a Saturday morning!! And I just finished off my Spanish Omelette Bagel.. it's like a deja vu feeling, it's exactly what I did last week. Except that I'm in a slackier mood than last week and I'm not having a flu anymore.
I just surfed into Darlie's blog page..and almost fell off my chair!! Oh man, her favourite hokkien song was actually playing in my office's speakers. And I think it sounds suspiciously familiar as it must be one of my mum's polyphonic ringtone. She must be in her blogging peaks and FYP lows nowadays, that mad woman..hahahhaha.. Sheesh, there must be something wrong with my new desktop 'Daxing' at home as I didn't see all the new blogs, think I didn't bother to click the 'refresh' button as Miss Wu had not been blogging much lately too. Well, will try to be a more devoted fan of all my friends' blogs from now on. I promise!!
And this is also the last Saturday morning which I will be stucked here in this office. Holidays from next weekends onwards.. two Saturdays off and I'm getting outta here!

Oh by the way..I received a grand total of 24 sms-es this year and a handful of well wishes from icq. That's 5 more sms than last year..muahahhaa. My popularity level had increased!! Suddenly I feel like I'm bratty Harry Porter's cousin who keep track of the no. of gifts he received each year. =P The best came from Wendy as we had lost touch with her for months and it was a hour or so after my birthday. Nevertheless, still very happy as she actually rushed back from work to sms me. =)
Oh well..I'm off to sleep.
Oh well..I'm off to sleep.
Sleepless in Sembawang
Yeah..yeah..it's 4.30am and I'm trying to make myself sleep by coming online to read blogs and to blog a few lines myself too. Know what? I've got a 2 days MC this week, on both Tuesday and Wednesday. Wait a minute.. if you happened to be my friend and avid fan of my blog, you would have realise that Wednesday is my birthday! Muahahhahaa.. God is really fair to me, giving me the day to rest at home to receive and reply all my SMS. Can you believe how lucky I am? Yah, I'm really the luckiest person on Earth and Mars, down with flu on my birthday. Actually, to speak the truth, it was a bit 'chao geng' one lah.. but if you have followed my blog fervently, you would know that I was having flu since last Sat at work. I happily waited till Tuesday to 'worsen' my condition so that I can get a 2-days MC, and a day off on Wednesday. I'm so smart!! Okay lah, almost couldn't pull it off as I was recovering before that, but luckily God also invented a condition named "sore throat" to compliment my flu. And now I'm stucked with flu, then sore throat, and back to flu, then sore throat again. Genuinely sick now.. The flu tablet (the small yellow one?) really knocked me out into constant drowsiness (and bad dreams when I sleep), so I went to work with a really tired mind today. Came back home and napped. That's why I'm still here now.. wide awake like the owl.
Looking forward to have dinner with my friends the next two days..yeah yeah!! Motivation for the weekend to come faster. As for my birthday, I didn't get to eat at the chocolate bar the other day, as we went Cineleisure to take some photos. It's a great deal (gian bng again) couple package, $30 for twelve 2-R photos and two 3-R photos. I'll show you the photos next time, whether you're interested or not. Hahhahaha.. And I was wearing my best buy new dress that day. =)
We had dinner at this teppanyaki buffet place which include a DIY ice-cream. The best part is the ice cream.. the teppanyaki hot plate actually turned real cold for you to 'fry' the sai-lookalike paste into delicious ice cream, and there were a few flavours to choose from. Happened to come across this restaurant at Cineleisure as we wanted to have sushi and saw this restaurant with a sushi belt, but turned out the belt is used for bringing the raw food to the patrons. So it's something like Seoul garden except that the food comes along in the belt and the good thing was they installed smoke/grease absorber thing(argghh..can't remember the name late at night) at the side of the hot plate so that the customers don't walk out with the 'chao ta' smell on their clothes and hair at the end of the feast. Recommended to try it once if you like new eating place.

Cheapo
Hey..I'm back, just can't resist blogging about this. I bought 2 blouses and one dress for $24 at the Metro Mega sale yesterday, and they cost $120 normally, so it's like FREAKING cheap!! Oh man, I was really gloating on my way back. What happened was this.. I had mentoring early in town yesterday morning. And after it ended, I decided to look around as I've wanted to get myself some new clothes. I walked all the way from Raffles City to Marina Square without seeing anything that I liked. So I decided to cut through Metro to go back home as I suddenly caught a flu and became too tired to shop. There were tons of people in that place, and the security guards were giving out big plastic bags at the door. I had nver liked sales, especially a mega sale, as its always too crowded and the things are never in my size. But nevertheless, I still took a plastic bag and browse around out of curiosity. Then I saw clothes from 'Fashion Lab'..one of my favourite brand as all the clothes are in prints of flowers. Despite what Hock Sui said about my flowery tops, I saw the blouses and it was really tempting to get them as they're only $8 and there's plenty with my size too. Even the dress was going at $8 even though the original price was $80!! The good thing was that there were many changing rooms and pay-out counters so the queues weren't very long and I could even try out the clothes that I had my eyes on. Yeah..happy happy..
Okay.. I know this blog is really bimbotic. The feeling of getting a cheap deal is just too good to be true. Especially when I asked my siblings, they thought that the tops were really nice too, a great bargain man! Oh yah.. just one thing, yesterday was the last day of the sale and now there's no more Metro Marina for any 'gian bng' pple like me already. Don't be envious okay? And guess what? My flu was gone when I went home with my new clothes. =)
