Oh yeah, Jay's newest album is coming out next week. Yippie! Anyone interested to go his concert with me? =)

Oh my god! Look at the timestamp now, my brand new desktop is finally working after a long 12 hours battle! Actually it was more than that, Mr DDD was here in our room helping us with our comp since 2pm this afternoon...

Really really have to thanks Mr DDD for buying all the casing, motherboard, monitor, keyboard and other comp peripherals from sim lim and brought them all the way here to install my new comp for me in hall. He was really tired when he was leaving our room around 1.3oam! Oh man, my comp was actually working before DDD and my roomie Danping went out for dinner, but the moment I came back and happily tried to run a test on it, it kena virus attacks and hackers attack non-stop. It was just like the men of Gordor entering the realm of Mordor and getting a serious attack from the orcs. Opps, sorry for the metaphor, I'm catching up with my reading of LOTR right now. *sheepish* Heehee.. Anyway, DDD was tired as he has interview and stuff on tomorrow (feel quite guilty), so he left me all the installation disks and everything to let me try reformatting the hard disk on my own, all over again. And I succeeded!! Yeah.. it was just like Frodo overcoming all his obstacles and getting his task done! Hahahaha.. but I suspect it's because the hackers are all asleep by this time. Arghh.. lousy NTU network.

Okay, anyway, lots and lots of kudos to my poor roomie Danping as she had to accompany her worse enemy DDD in hall the whole day due to me having lectures and tuitions on the first day of school. Her comp also kena virus attacks but it had been such a long day for us that she's knocked out long ago. Me promise to help her re-format tomorrow to repay all her kind deeds during the past 2 days. =P Heehehe, machiam I computer guru liao.

Yeah, although my new comp (lets call it Neonblue as it has ah-beng neon blue lights on the CPU) is a odd combination of colours and consisting beige philips monitor, white logitech keyboard and wire-less mouse plus the metal CPU, it's cheap and serving me well (for the past one hour..haha) Yippie!! I'm alive again! Can you belive it? I'm paying my ass off two new desktops (Neonblue & Daxing) and a lok kok laptop at the same time (Xiaoxing), pocket burning big hole siah.. =P

Yo yo.. I've survived the first night in hall without comp, without TV, without my mum to nag and talk in the background. Hahaha..it's quite a peaceful night after packing up our stuff and there's nothing else to do except for answering the questions of a lost neighbour and entertain her 'cute' but ahem a tad too friendly little sister. We even found the common rooms like the computer room (there's where I'm blogging now) and the the reading room, hidden away at a very unsuspecting and ulu stairway in the hall. But anyway, pray hard for me that I'll be having internet access in my room tonight, as DDD is coming over later.

Yawny, the first day of school started brightly other than the fact that my room-mate was up and prancing around as early as 6.30am!! I was very surprised as it was still dark when she awoke (and awaken me in the process) as she knocked out rather early last night, for my standards at least. It was as if I have a foreign exchange student for a room mate and she's having jet lag or something.. hee hee. But can understand, the first night at a new place is a first night afterall, praying that we can get used to everything soon. Hopefully, I can get back to room to get some sleep before DDD come over and spend the whole afternoon here fixing up a new com for me. He's doing me a really nice personal favour so at the moment I shall be VERY nice to him. =) Okay, back to dreamland.. no monday blues!

I'm being a dumb dumb again, I've missed my driving lesson this morning at a great cost as it's during peak hours. Shit... mixed up the time of the driving lesson!! (Don't ask me why I'm so blur) And the hours of teaching I'm going to put in later today can just barely cover the cost...darn.

Well, looking on a bright side of things, it's a beautiful rainy morning so I can go and sleep for another hour.. even though it's already 12pm. Ha!

Oh well, funkygrad is closed for renovation, kind of lost when I log on as I can't surf into that website and there's nothing to do when I'm online now. Oh well, back to sleep!

Exams over!

Hey, think this colour will suit my site as it's sweetie girlish pink colour on black background! Yeah... Anyway, exams are over!!

I'm back in school these few days, slowly moving things into hall and also taking naps before my tuitions or after my driving lessons. Yeah, I've started driving lessons all over again, and this time enrolled in BBDC which is nearer to school and hall. Targeting to get my license before Hock Sui is back, though I'm still terrible with directions. Today was bringing some bulky items from home like a dustbin, radio, pillows and so on, so I took a cab to hall. The cabbie was a nice uncle but the first thing he asked me:

Cabbie: So you know the route there?
Me: Eh..no
Cabbie: Do you live around here?
Me: Yes
Cabbie: Then how come you dunno?

But he's cab driver mah..so he should know loh. But still, don't even ask me about the way from home to NTU, the other day I can't even recognize the route back home from causeway pt when Yingzhi was giving me a lift. I think I'm really a 路盲, sigh.. even worse than my friend DYZ i think, hee hee..

Okay I'm digressing!! Back to the naps, thanks to having a bed in my hall room, I can get some rest in between those hours from school and tuition or driving lessons. Wonderful wonderful bed.. =)

So far, I had been busy with settling into hall, shopping for groceries and neccessities with Danping and stealing things from home. It's quite exciting trying to make our room as cool as possible..

But as you know, I'm a terrible net addict, so it's terrible as I can't bring my wonderful 17" 2.8Ghz desktop to my hall as my sisters will kill me, and I won't have any comp to use at home when I'm back. My other alternative is to use Xiao-xing, but he's already rather old and feeble, have to upgrade him to Windows 2000 even before I can get access to the school network. I think I'm quite kan-cheong now, as I definitely can't survive for long without a comp ever since JC, or even when I was only Sec 3. Almost wanted take up another comp loan to get a new notebook but I'm not eligible as I'm not in a degree course now. Help!! Think maybe I have to beg Danping's greatest enemy DDD for help as he had offered to set up not one but two computers for me !! (that was at the moment when he wanted to spite Danping, hahaha) Else I've to revert to that cheapo computer brochure that was slotted into my hall room the other day, they sell new computers at very cheap rate using 'japalang' parts and there's free delivery to hall. Maybe I can survive with that huh.. better than nothing.

I'm going to announce something that may shock everyone, and even cost me my job. No.. don't worry, I'm not pregnant and I'm not going to be a single mum. Okay, just let me take a deep breath and say this out loud once..

*Breathe in*

*Holding breath*

*Open mouth wide*

I....

H...A...T...E

C...H..I..N..E...S..E..!!!!

我恨死华文!!

Trying to memorise all this chunks and chunks of words is driving me crazy now..  And don't worry, I'm going to be a good teacher as I can fully understand why those little kids hate chinese. I finally remember why I've decided to drop chinese and not major in the subject, because I simply don't have enough megabytes in my brain to save so much information into my brain and regurgitate it out the next day like a piece of juicy steak (don't ask me what's the connection here).

Okay, I've said it. Don't worry, I'm still capable of taking an interest in Chinese to be a good chinese teacher. I love it during normal learning and harmless reading of the words, I only hate it so when I have to study it for exams. Ha! I hope this will be the last time I'll have to do this, let my students suffer for me in future. =)

Back to more memorising now, boohoo.. it's doomsday tomorrow, it's also the last day of my exams!! Yeah.. I'm expecting at least a week of hols and playtime before I have to touch any text again.

Monday, July 19, 2004

Yeah..we can type in colourful words on our blog now!!

I'm so excited.. I'm a hostelite now, how cool is that?? Hahaha..today me and Danping just got our keys and went to take a look at our room. The process was quite "boh-seh"as we got perpetually lost, looking like we've got the word 'freshie' written all our faces, except that we're actually quite stale. We got the newest hall in NTU and it's near to NIE, yeah! What's even better, it looks clean and funky (in Danping's favourite red colour) and there's a kitchenette on every floor. I'm sure we'll find cool and hunky guys there too! *crossing fingers*And how do we actually get our room? It's even more boh seh than us, there's bits of handwritten paper inside this plastic container so the guy over there just got us to pick a lot. And that's that. I was quite flabbergasted but luckily Danping's lucky hand picked quite a nice block and room for us. I'll be slowly moving my stuff over into the room to make it more 'livable', so think our first night of co-habiting together won't happen until Sunday night, and that's more likely to be our first stayover.

Okay enough of my excitement now, back to my books. Oh yah...before that, I've caught King Arthur, was expecting something more legendary rather than another action filled movie which is not comparable to LOTR in the first place. Was a bit disappointed but think the movie's still worth watching though. Especially if you have something for those ruggedly handsome guys.. Hahahaa.. Artorius!

Went with outing with Yingzhi and Ling last Sunday (Danping was sick) and after having our dinner using Yingzhi's fabulous NKF coupon at Yoshinoya, we found this great place to enjoy our 'kopi' and chit chat. We were lucky enough to get a window seat at this Coffee Club on Takashimaya 3rd? 4th? floor(next to Kino bookstore), then I took this picture of Ngee Ann city from my seat. It was a great outing! =)
Don't you love my photos? Look at what we have for our drinks…

Our drinks, looking so delicious in this photo? Hmm, the one closer to the foreground with layered ingredients is mine.. think it was one of the latte there (forgot the name), yummy!

Wah lau.. my blog 'maluated' me again. After fixing up my photos, I realised that my archives were missing, so went editing my templete again to fix that up. AND after fixing that, apparantly I edited my tagboard HTML accidentally but didn't realise it (yeah, even when Ling pointed it out days ago I didn't know what she was talking about..=P). I kept clicking back to my blog and seeing the tagboard there, thought that nothing was wrong, but there wasn't the column for pple to drop in more comments. Hahaa..stupid me. Hopefully everything is showing up now!!!

Speaking of archives, I was trying to click on my past blogs written one or two years back to see what kind of things I was blogging about. I can't even recognize some of those thoughts as my own, and I also realised that my blogs were relatively much shorter when I just started out. Damn it, this shows that I have more things to lament about rather than to announce over my blog nowadays. Sigh..age catching up.

Met Giam at Ubin during her 21 days OBS course today, amidst all the nerds that was having camp with her (her fellow watch-mates are all scholars). They looked like a nice batch of people though. Yep, didn't get to speak to her as I was traveling out on a land rover, while she was sweating and hiking around with a big backpack and a foam sleeping mat rolled up on her bag. She looked really super excitedly to see me in the rover, though must be cursing and swearing at how fortunate I was to be on a vehicle. Hahahah.."shitty" must be the word she would thought of.

Realised that I've been blogging a lot as I don't wish to face the reality of tests and exams coming up! Argghhh...I'm falling behind my revision, stress indicator rising up rapidly now. =(

Anyway, I don't have the habit of buying 8-days but I was walking past this newstand when I saw the picture of Li-lin in the 6th mth of her pregnancy on the cover, thus I've gotten my hands on a copy of those. Damn, Li-lin is still so hot despite her pregnancy and exposed tummy on the coverpage, she HARDLY look bloated like what other expecting mothers should look like. I guess even when she had her morning sickness she looks tons better than me when I was having a good hair day, the world is so unfair! Not to mention that she's married to Allan Wu, the gorgeous hunk *sigh in resignation*. Blah.. perhaps she'll look glamourous even in photos featuring her armpit hair, or some veg stuck in between her teeth. Hahhahaha..

Actually 8-days do have some interesting articles.. perhaps this is a good-coverage-issue? Heehee.. The "Last Page" was a article on "How to irritate people in the cinema" and I thought it's quite corny, though not good as Mr Brown's. So let me rip off the better suggestions and post them here (written not by me of course!)

Talking on the cellphone is outdated, do upgrade your skills with these pointers!

1.During the trailers, shout, "Fast forward! Fast forward!"

2.When people come in late, say "Orrrrrrrhhhhhhhh" very loudly

3.During the opening credits, point at a character and say loudly, "He dies in the end."

4.Use a laser pointer and point the beam at the screen, especially at the characters' privates. (Personally, I think this is most creative suggestion)

5.Throw popcorn in the air and yell, "It's snowing! It's snowing!"

6.Urge everyone in the cinema to start a kallang wave.

7.During love scenes, say loudly in Mandarin, "Ngghhh! 不要,嘛!"

8.During horror movies, keep singing the theme to Jaws (dum dum..dum dum.. dum dum dum dum..)

9.During an important scene, stand up and say loudly, "I go shee-shee now, can?"

10.Bring in a bowl of noodle and slurp it up loudly.

11.Bring in durians for your movie snack.

12.Eat the snacks of the person sitting next to you.

Hahaha.. if you do all of the above, you'll risk getting angry stares and kena chased out from the cinema. Sigh..think I'm too boh-liao, heehehe...going back to my studies now! =)

Hey... I'm using the blogger free photohosting right now and it solved all my problems of photos MIA-ing. Erm, a certain friend of mine (let's not mention names! but just call her DP..=P) had problems a few days back using the Hello-picasa thing that's linked to blogger, so I didn't thought of using it. BUT, it's really soooooo much more convenient as all the photos will be sized properly, and uploaded directly to my blog now, so no more meddling with HTML anymore! =) I'm a genius..haha.. or maybe half a genius, hopefully now I don't sound so much like an idiot since my photos are finally showing. Can scroll down and re-read my blog, will ya? Hahaha, and now I know why Xiaxue can upload so many photos onto her blog, more photologs for me too! Will be back..=)

Giam!

It's been a long time since I've came to NUS..and thanks to my pretty and sweet friend Danping, I'm able to blog from here! No no, don't worry, I didn't disfigure myself to look like her to 'hun' into the lib. And how things had changed since I was last here, erm...perhaps a year ago? The ugly entrance to the Central Lib now looks so cool and grand, and the interior is even funkier than my favourite Woodlands Regional Library.. Anyway, I'm using one of the cool upgraded terminals inside the lib now..heehee..

Yep, and viewing my blog from the comp here, I'm convinced that the photos failing to show up is not due to my friends' slow connection at home afterall, even though my blog with all the photos was showing up beautifully when I'm at home. =P Arghh... I must be sounding like an idiot all this while, describing about all my photos when nobody can see them. Till Ling plucked up her courage and alerted me about it. Heh heh.. *sheepish grin*

Anyway, I'm probably going back to use the more reliable Singnet to host my photos afterall. Meanwhile, added the link to my photo album where you can view all of it. =)

Must be off now, I'm not here to 'woo' and 'wah' at how much NUS had changed.. must get off my butt (or maybe get down my butt) to study for my tests and exams. Shucks.. nobody else but me is having exams at this time of the year. By the way, I must grandly announced that I've finished 3 modules of studies in the past one mth. Ain't that incredible?

Thursday, July 01, 2004

Hahaha..after Ling and Danping had posted up their diving photos in their blog. Now it's my turn!! This is call 不甘示弱, this is me diving at Dayang! Isn't that cool..

Wait a minute.. you must be real confused by now, this must be going through your mind.

You: Diving? Dayang? I thought you just came back from a trip at Tioman.

Me: Yeah, you're right. I went diving at Dayang during Sept 2002, and the above photo was taken then, and finally develop two years later!!! My spectacular diving photos was stored in this gadget for ages...

It looks a toy camera yah? But it has a cool name call Max.. heehee.. Anyway, somebody recommended it to me when I was still a novice diver, and I bought it for my 'virgin' diving trip at Dayang once upon a time. It's a disposable underwater camera which could take pictures as deep as 10m, but I was pretty skeptical about the quality of the photos I took with it. I returned from the trip without finishing the roll of film in it, and just left it in my drawer since I was too lazy to use it again. And there it was all these years..till I went to Tioman recently. When I was rummaging through my drawer for my passport, I chanced upon it again, thinking that it's impossible the previous photos are still intact after such a long time. But anyway, I brought it along for the Tioman trip and used it to take photos of us snorkelling. On the boat trip back to my resort, I turned to the back of the camera and saw the expiry date for developing the film was 04/2004. Opps...heeehee.. didn't notice it till then. So it's pretty amazing huh? This Max thing is of quite good quality, even after its expired! Eh, I can't even remember most of these people who went diving with me already, but they just turned up in some of the photos. Hahahha.. here's another pic of me and my buddy Aichin at Dayang.

me and aichin diving!
Don't you love this photo?

Wow.. I bet even some of those digital cam with super expensive waterproof housing can't take photos as good as these.. =P Coolz..

Let's move on to my Tioman snorkelling trip, have a sneak preview of these photos taken with Max! It's sneak preview cos even Danping and Giam haven't seen these yet.. This is the both of them with the snorkelling gear..heehee. And may I add, bikini underneath the bouyancy vests!!

Giam and Wu snorkelling!
Don't you love this photo?

And this is the spectacular one.. it's Danping's finger holding on to the bread to attract the fishes.

Yep, the fishes weren't in a fish tank but swimming all around us. I'm the talented photographer who took this photo. How about Giam? There she is..

This is Giam!
Don't you love this photo?

Keeping a distance away from us when we were feeding fishes. She went quite hysterical seeing the fishes 'cheong-ing' at us when we have the bread in our hands. Strange isn't it? She enjoyed snorkelling a lot, but prefered to have the fishes keeping a distance away from her. Noticed that she held our supply of bread high and dry above her head?

Okie dokie, I'm not intending the catch the soccer match between Portugal and Holland tonight, so must turn in soon. Lessons again later on! Sadz.. but may Holland win to revenge for my favourite England team. =P Will be back with more 独家 photos again. *wink wink*
