On Thurs, after the ITE tour as part of our enrichment program, we had an impromptu session of mahjong at Peiling's place again. I must say that it was a fun session and with some luck, me and Huiyi managed to minimize our losses a bit more than the previous time. Of course, with the mahjong queen and king around, that's the best we can do..hahaha..
In the evening, I met up with my OEP gang for dinner. We visited the group of restaurants at the renovated Marina Square (Centre stage) and it's quite a new and refreshing experience. I like the concept of patrons being able to order food from more than one restuarant, and the ambience there was good too (though I suspect its going to be quite crowded during weekends).
After the dinner, we started observing the tables near to us and try to guess the relationships between the people who are sitting around it. It was quite fun making speculations and we spotted people who went there for a secondary-sch-gathering, and also a group of colleagues, totally based on our assumptions!! It then occurred to us that we were the weirdest combination and people would have a hard time guessing why we were there if they were also boring enough to try the same thing. For one thing, our age differ from one another by a year or two.. ranging from 18-26 years old. And also, we were literally from all walks of life. I'm the only one who's working... as for the rest, one is waiting to be enlisted, one is waiting to enrol into uni, one is studying in uni and the youngest among us is in JC2 this year. Hahaha..what a combination.
This shows that a similar mindset is a strong force for bringing people together. Its quite amazing how the five of us became closer after the China trip last year, even though in the team there were others that I had known for a longer time, and there were also those who were my age. Even though the team doesn't meet up anymore, we still catch up together every now and then.. and that's a very nice thing to do. =)
